Afghan Ceremonial Brass Earrings

Traditional Afghan ceremonial earrings distinguished by their large, elaborate form and the raw character of old tribal jewellery. They were handcrafted from brass with a silver-toned, visibly aged surface.

A dense cascade of metal chains hangs from each substantial ear wire. The composition includes triangular plaques covered with embossed ornamentation, small teardrop-shaped pendants and settings filled with red and blue glass.

All elements move independently, creating a striking visual effect and a distinctive metallic sound. Their rich decoration, considerable weight and monumental length suggest ceremonial jewellery intended primarily for traditional dress and special occasions.

The earrings are extremely heavy and unsuitable for ordinary all-day wear. They are best suited to collectors, enthusiasts of authentic ethnic jewellery, historical costume projects and stage styling. Uneven surfaces, patina and differences between individual elements are natural results of handcrafting.
