Afghan Silver Pink Earrings

These slender earrings from Afghanistan represent the traditional style of jewelry worn by tribal communities in Central Asia. The design is simple yet expressive – the upper part is a setting with pink glass set in a silver frame, introducing a vibrant pop of color that contrasts with the cool shade of the metal.

Beneath the intimate setting lies a long, cylindrical element made of wire tightly wrapped around the core of the earring. This type of spiral braiding was often used in traditional Afghan jewelry, as it reinforced the structure and added a distinctive texture.

The lower part of the earrings is adorned with a cluster of small silver beads, forming a decorative tip resembling a small rosette. This element gives the earrings a subtle volume and counterbalances the slender stem, ensuring the overall form remains harmonious and well-balanced.

The earrings have retained their natural silver patina, highlighting their age and authenticity. Visible traces of handiwork and subtle differences in detail are typical of traditional jewelry made in small Afghan artisan workshops.
