Openwork Afghan Jhumka Earrings

Afghan jhumka earrings combining the traditional bell-shaped form with a lightweight openwork construction. Their handmade finish creates a raw ethnic character, while the silver-toned metal complements the cool colour palette.

The upper section of each earring features a small dome decorated with a rhythmic embossed pattern. A row of blue accents surrounds the lower edge, drawing attention and adding colour to the naturally aged metal surface.

Short chains finished with moving leaf-shaped pendants hang beneath the openwork domes. They sway freely and produce a subtle sound, creating an effect associated with traditional jewellery from South and Central Asia.

Despite their elaborate appearance, the earrings are lightweight and comfortable to wear. Hand-shaped hooks, minor differences between the two pieces, patina and visible traces of workmanship are natural features of authentic Afghan handicraft.
