Afghan earrings with lapis lazuli

The earrings are crafted in the traditional style of Afghan jewelry, recognizable by its geometric composition and spiral decorations arranged around the central stone. The design, based on a rhomboidal shape, gives the piece the character of ancient ornaments worn by women of pastoral and caravan communities in Central Asia.

The central element of each earring is a lapis lazuli of an intense blue color. This stone has been mined in the mountains of Afghanistan for thousands of years and is considered one of the oldest minerals used in ceremonial jewelry. Its color draws attention with a calm, deep tone, associated with the night sky and the protective symbolism of traditional amulets.

The brass setting was handcrafted using a technique characteristic of workshops in the region, where the metal’s surface remains slightly raw and full of fine irregularities that highlight the authenticity of the craftsmanship. Spiral ornaments enhance the impression of movement and rhythm, typical of the aesthetic of Afghan tribal jewelry.

The shape of the earrings makes them striking yet visually light. They pair well with both simple everyday attire and more ethnic styles inspired by Central Asian culture. This is a piece with a distinct cultural identity and collector’s appeal.
