Burgundy Gold Velvet Hijab
Burgundy Gold Velvet Hijab
The material has a distinctly velvety texture – soft, supple, with a dense, short pile that reflects light and creates an elegant, refined sheen. The color is a deep burgundy shade with a hint of beige in the reflections, giving the piece a warm, luxurious character. The fabric looks heavy, but feels surprisingly light in the hand.
Wide, richly embroidered stripes of gold thread run along the sides. The pattern is based on geometric rhombuses and tiny rosettes, and gold-mirror sequins are sewn between the embroidery. The sequins reflect the light in spots, creating a subtle shimmering effect without being overly bright. This aesthetic is familiar from Pakistani and Pashtun ceremonial costumes.
The central section remains more subdued – adorned with small, regularly placed embroidered motifs that balance the richness of the border. The ends are finished with a thick, gold thread as a decorative trim, emphasizing the frame of the entire fabric.
This design works well as a hijab, a large shoulder scarf, or as part of a Middle Eastern-inspired outfit. The thick, velvety weave creates a feeling of envelopment, and the lightness of the material allows for easy draping without feeling heavy.
