The Afghan Kuchi tribal belt is made on a solid, light green canvas base, accented with gold ribbons and a vibrant orange edge trim. The color scheme is no accident – ​​in the tradition of the nomads of southern Afghanistan, green symbolized life and rebirth, while gold trimmings emphasized the wearer's status and wealth.

Authentic rupee coins, which historically served as a means of securing wealth, are sewn along the entire length of the belt. Kuchi jewelry was both a decorative element and a portable treasure – the metallic sound of the coins as they moved was meant to attract attention, emphasize presence, and enhance the stage character of the outfit.
