Silver earrings crafted in a traditional Afghan workshop represent a simple yet distinctive form of tribal jewelry. The design is based on a thin wire clasp and a small decorative arrangement composed of several metal elements and stones set in settings.

The most striking element of the piece is red glass set in a slightly teardrop-shaped silver setting. Intense red was one of the most frequently used colors in Afghan jewelry, where colored glass replaced expensive gemstones, simultaneously giving the pieces a distinctive character.

Next to the main element are two smaller opalescent glass elements, which introduce additional color contrast. A conical element made of thin silver sheet suspended below gives the earrings movement and a subtle three-dimensional effect. These small pendants appeared in many Afghan tribal jewelry.
