Small silver earrings represent one of the most distinctive forms found in traditional Afghan jewelry. Their design is based on a crescent-shaped disc suspended from a thin wire hoop. This form was popular in many tribal communities because it allowed for the creation of a light yet decorative piece.

The upper part of the crescent was adorned with small colored glass beads in shades of red, green, and orange. In Afghan jewelry, such elements served as decorative imitations of precious stones. The intense colors were intended to attract attention and emphasize the richness of the jewelry, even when made using simple materials available in local workshops.

The lower part of the earrings was finished with an openwork band of small holes and a small pendant with red glass. This type of composition – a crescent moon with a central pendant – often appears in jewelry made by artisans working in small workshops in rural and mountainous areas of Afghanistan.

The visible traces of handiwork and the natural patina on the silver surface give these earrings an authentic character of ancient craftsmanship. These are not industrially produced jewelry, but rather examples of simple handicraft created under traditional conditions. As a result, they retain the raw and tribal character typical of old Afghan jewelry.
