Afghan Rupee Choker

The design is based on a wide, dark fabric woven with metal beads and small red and white beads. The material provides a stable base for heavier metal elements, and the whole thing drapes close to the neck, creating a distinctive, traditional outline.

The front is decorated with real rupees and round medallions with embedded red glass. The coins are not imitations – they feature clear inscriptions and relief. The silvery tone of the coins and the warmer shade of the brass beads creates a contrast typical of the jewelry of Afghan nomadic communities.

The central part is complemented by pendants in the form of openwork bells with small balls. When moved, they produce a subtle, metallic sound, which is an integral element of this form – in the region's culture, sound and ornamentation function together, not separately.

The design has a strongly ethnic character and looks best as the main accent of a styling. This jewelry has a distinct visual weight, raw, unfiltered by modern simplifications. It works well with both boho styles and as a contrast to minimalist black.
