Pakistani Silver Signet Ring with Carnelian – Oval Setting

The design clearly evokes the tradition of signet rings worn in Pakistan and northern India – a heavy band, a wide pommel, and a distinct, decorative frame with a braided rim and grained ornamentation. The setting is crafted from high-grade silver (verified by assay), with a slightly darkened background characteristic of the region, highlighting the relief of the decorations.

The central element is an oval carnelian in a warm, deep red color, fading to honey tones at the edges. The stone is hand-engraved with a bust motif – the stylized profile of the figure is reminiscent of antique gems and images inspired by the Persian-Hellenic tradition, which have been present in South Asian jewelry for centuries. The design is not perfectly symmetrical – visible tool marks confirm the handiwork.

The setting features a rich, relief floral and geometric ornament on the shoulders. Characteristic, rhythmic embellishments and a massive construction give the ring the look of raw, authentic men's jewelry. The entire piece weighs significantly more than contemporary, thin-walled pieces – it's a solid, heavy signet ring with a real presence on the hand.

This piece is offered as a single piece in this specific, oval setting. The stone shows natural signs of wear – micro-scratches and slight abrasions, which are not a defect, but rather a testament to the item's history. The signet ring can be considered a collectible piece, an element of oriental styling, or a contemporary accent with a distinct, historical character.
