Pakistani signet ring with carnelian - round setting
Pakistani signet ring with carnelian - round setting
A Pakistani signet ring crafted from silver in a very large, round setting, topped with a hand-carved carnelian in an intensely warm, honey-red hue. The central stone depicts a figure in profile in the style of classic gemstones, with a clearly defined facial contour and costume details. The relief was created without the use of modern technology – tool marks and natural surface abrasions confirm its handiwork.
The setting is in the form of a wide, massive basket with a decorative "rope" rim and an additional, wavy outer rim. The sides of the ring are decorated with a traditional floral ornament characteristic of the jewelry crafts of Pakistan and the Afghan border. The construction is solid, heavy, and clearly noticeable on the hand – this is a signet ring with a distinct, masculine character.
The piece has no hallmarks, as is typical of older, locally produced pieces. However, the ring was tested for silver content – the result confirms the metal composition is at a level consistent with a classic jewelry silver alloy (close to 925). This information is based on material testing, not on the manufacturer's declaration.
The signet ring is being sold as a vintage piece. Visible minor signs of wear, micro-scratches on the stone, and the natural patina of the silver are consistent with its age and represent an element of authenticity. This piece is intended for collectors and those who consciously choose traditional craftsmanship with a historical character.
