Medina Lapis Pendant

Handcrafted from patinated brass, this Afghan pendant showcases a natural oval lapis lazuli cabochon set at its centre. The deep royal-blue gemstone contrasts beautifully with the antique finish of the metal, creating a refined piece inspired by traditional Middle Eastern and Central Asian jewellery.

The surface is decorated with hand-engraved arabesque and geometric motifs influenced by Islamic art. The combination of intricate engraving and aged patina gives the pendant an authentic appearance reminiscent of jewellery once found in the historic markets of Afghanistan and along the Silk Road.

Lapis lazuli has been mined in Afghanistan's Badakhshan region for thousands of years and has long been prized by pharaohs, Persian rulers and master craftsmen. Its intense blue colour, enhanced by delicate golden pyrite inclusions, makes every stone naturally unique.

Its generous size makes this pendant an eye-catching centrepiece on a leather cord, braided necklace or substantial chain. Perfect for collectors of ethnic, bohemian and Middle Eastern jewellery, it blends traditional Afghan craftsmanship with timeless design and everyday wearability.
