Kalasha Beaded Tassels with Bells – Multicolored Ceremonial Pair

The composition features dense beadwork in red, green, white, yellow, and blue tones. The lower sections widen into fan-like shapes forming clearly structured striped patterns, finished with yellow accents. Small metal bells are attached along the edges, adding both visual weight and a subtle sound element.

Each piece responds to movement – when worn or displayed in motion, the bells produce a soft metallic chime while the strands sway rhythmically. Traditionally, such ornaments could form part of female ceremonial attire, headpieces, hip belts, or festive decorative elements. The weight and density suggest use in visible, representative contexts.

Kalasha beadwork from the Chitral region is known for its strong color contrasts and layered construction. These examples are not industrial products – variations in thread tension, slight asymmetry, and natural patina on the metal components confirm handcraft origin.

The pair can be used in ethnographic costume reconstruction, stage decoration, dance belt elements, bag adornments, or interior hanging ornaments. They also serve as striking accents in artistic styling, photography sessions, or South Asian-inspired collections. Due to their weight and bells, they are most expressive in motion.
