Afghan Tribal Bell
Afghan Tribal Bell
Afghan Tribal Bell is a large spherical pendant handcrafted from brass. A loose metal ball concealed inside strikes the inner walls as the pendant moves, producing a distinct raw ringing sound.
A broad decorative band encircles the body, combining twisted wirework with a rhythmic wave ornament. The lower section is embellished with small metal spheres and a piece of red glass held in a simple setting. A substantial loop allows the bell to be suspended from a chain, cord or traditional costume.
The surface retains natural patina, abrasions, discolouration and traces of prolonged use. Minor irregularities and variations in finish result from its handmade construction and emphasise the object’s antique character.
The bell can be used as the centrepiece of a substantial necklace, a tribal costume ornament, a sound-producing amulet or a distinctive collector’s object. It combines the sculptural quality of antique Afghan jewellery with an authentic mechanism that remains functional.
