Kashmiri necklace with pendants

This Kashmiri necklace is an example of classic tribal jewelry worn by women from the mountainous regions bordering India and Pakistan. It's made from a series of interlocking chains, from which hang seven triangular metal elements – each adorned with engraving, a hammered texture, and a rich array of bells, diamond-shaped pendants, and leaf-shaped charms.

The central pendant is distinguished by its multicolored glass embellishment in shades of red, green, blue, and black – colors typical of the region, which served not only a decorative but also a protective function. The remaining triangular elements are more austere, with more subtle embossing and single-loop embellishments.

The necklace doesn't have a classic clasp; its length is adjustable using a natural cord, allowing it to fit a variety of body types. The whole thing moves resonantly with every movement, creating a distinctive rustle that was meant to ward off evil spirits and simultaneously signal the owner's presence.

It's not just a piece of jewelry, but also a piece of living tradition – an expression of the region's cultural identity and a passion for handcrafted, layered jewelry. Perfect for lovers of ethnic accessories with an authentic character.
