Antique Turkmen bead features a large rounded body, elongated ends and a broad opening. Its substantial shape makes it suitable as the centrepiece of a necklace or as a prominent connector in an elaborate jewellery composition.

A wide decorative band encircles the centre, combining twisted wire with a rhythmic wave ornament. Similar detailing accentuates both ends of the bead. Surviving gilded elements create a warm contrast with the silver-toned surface of the body.
