Large coin with lapis lazuli – a round stone
Large coin with lapis lazuli – a round stone
The central lapis lazuli is in the form of a regular circle. The stone is natural – a deep, cobalt-navy blue color with lighter, milky areas and characteristic golden-colored dots of pyrite. This is not a uniform, synthetic sheet of color. The mineral's structure is vibrant, varied, with small inclusions typical of lapis lazuli from Afghan deposits.
The setting is handcrafted from a brass alloy. The frame is soldered directly to the coin, and traces of high temperature are visible around it – darkening, slight melting, and local discoloration. The pendant's earring is solid, often with simple embossing in the form of circles or grooves. This is craftsmanship, not jewelry sterility.
The large size of the coin gives the pendant a strong visual presence. The intense, round lapis lazuli acts as the focal point of the entire composition. Each piece differs in the detail of the relief and the tone of the stone. The price is for one random pendant from the presented lot.
