This brass "tie" necklace, crafted by Kashmiri artisans, is a completely different design than a classic choker or taweez. Its structure consists of segments connected by flexible spirals and adorned with colorful glass beads in shades of red, turquoise, and green. The focal point is a triangular pendant with an openwork frame and a small stone in the center, terminating in movable chains with bells.

The design resembles a ceremonial tie – a long, vertically falling element that doesn't encircle the neck but hooks underneath. At the back are metal loops designed to be attached to large eyelets, buttonholes, or special loops in clothing. The jewelry was attached to the garment rather than hung around the neck. This distributes the weight across the fabric, creating a distinct, vertical line across the torso.

Visible signs of wear, abrasions, and a natural patina give the piece an authentic, raw character. Spiral joints, embossed ornaments, and tiny bells indicate both a decorative and symbolic function – sound, movement, and light reflecting off the metal created an eye-catching effect from a distance.

This piece, approximately half a meter long, was intended to be worn as a decorative pin around the neck – on a shirt, dress, caftan, or stage outfit. This is not a modern reinterpretation, but a traditional element of clothing, rarely seen in such a complete form today.
