Small Obsidian Ring

The small obsidian cabochon set in this ring is made of natural volcanic glass. Obsidian forms when lava cools very rapidly and doesn't have time to form a crystalline structure. This gives the stone its characteristic smooth surface and a deep, glassy luster reminiscent of polished black glass.

The stone has a classic oval shape, but in this design, its size remains more subtle than in larger obsidian rings. This makes the ring lightweight and comfortable to wear, while retaining its distinctive character thanks to the stone's intense color.

The setting is handcrafted from .925 sterling silver. A smooth, wide frame delicately encircles the cabochon, emphasizing its form and giving the entire piece a minimalist feel. The adjustable band allows the ring to fit various finger sizes.

Obsidian has been valued for centuries in many cultures around the world. In ancient civilizations, it was used not only in jewelry but also for the production of blades and tools. Its extraordinary smoothness and ability to achieve very sharp edges made it one of the most practical natural materials available to man.
