Silver Obsidian Ring

The obsidian used in this ring was created by the rapid cooling of lava, when heated magma comes into contact with cold air or water. In such conditions, the minerals don't have time to crystallize, creating a natural, exceptionally smooth volcanic glass. This gives the stone's surface a distinctive, deep shine reminiscent of a polished mirror.

In this style, the obsidian has been cut into a classic, oval cabochon with a distinctly convex surface. Its uniform, intensely black color allows light to gently glide across the stone's surface, emphasizing its natural depth. The minimalist setting allows the focus to be on the stone itself.

The ring is handmade of 925 sterling silver. The smooth, polished bezel surrounding the obsidian creates an elegant transition between the stone and the band. The ring's construction remains solid, yet comfortable to wear thanks to the adjustable band that allows you to adjust the size to your finger.

Obsidian was known in ancient times – its name derives from the Roman explorer Obsius, who, according to tradition, brought the stone from Ethiopia to Rome. Since then, obsidian has appeared in many cultures as a material for jewelry, seals, and amulets, valued for its natural smoothness and intense, deep color.
