Turkmen Bell Ring with Stone

Turkmen jewelry often incorporated moving elements, giving the pieces a distinctive sound and dynamic feel. Traditional jewelry featured small bells or spherical pendants that moved with every hand movement. This design was both decorative and symbolic.

This ring is made of a zinc metal alloy in the form of a wide hoop. In the center is a small red stone set in a simple setting. Its deep color provides a subtle contrast to the matte metal surface.

Four small bells suspended from metal links are attached to the top of the ring. Their spherical shape and subtle slits in the surface allow for a distinctive sound when the hand is moved. This type of design is recognizable in tribal jewelry from the Turkmen region.

The metal's natural patina and minor signs of wear emphasize the piece's age and authenticity. Such rings are among the less common forms of ethnic jewelry and are an interesting example of traditional Central Asian crafts.
