Small Coin with Turquoise Howlite – Teardrop

This version uses compact coins that once circulated in the Afghanistan–Pakistan region. Crescents, stars, denomination marks and fragments of Arabic script remain visible to varying degrees. The relief is partially worn, with natural patina and darker areas created by age and handling. Traces of soldering are intentionally left visible, emphasizing the handcrafted conversion rather than factory production.

The central stone is howlite dyed in a bright turquoise tone. Irregular veining in graphite and brown shades runs across the surface, giving it a mineral character reminiscent of natural turquoise. This is stone, not glass – the texture remains slightly matte with subtle variations in saturation.

The stone is set in a brass bezel soldered directly onto the coin. Edges are slightly uneven, with visible marks from high heat and manual work. The bail is solid, often double-looped or lightly ribbed, proportioned to match the smaller scale of the coin.

Due to its compact size, the pendant feels more subtle than larger versions, yet the turquoise color remains visually striking. Each piece differs in coin detail and stone pattern. The price refers to one randomly selected pendant from the batch shown.
