Turkmen Red Glass Amulet
Turkmen Red Glass Amulet
The design is based on a simple brass chain connected with wavy segments that give the piece rhythm and lightness. The metal has a natural, subdued patina – not a jewelry shine, but a raw surface with visible traces of time and handiwork.
The central element consists of two parts. The upper, smaller form houses a deep red glass, set in a simple frame. Below it hangs a larger panel with another dark red element, surrounded by chains and small, round plates.
The lower part terminates in several free-falling chains with embossed discs. Each movement causes the metal to gently vibrate – this is jewelry that lives with the body, not remaining static.
This model represents a lighter version of traditional Turkmen pendants. The form is distinct but not overwhelming, making the necklace perfect both as an ethnic accent to an everyday outfit and as a bolder detail in a Middle Eastern-inspired outfit.
