Waziri Coin with Blue Beads

The base is an authentic Pakistani coin – a visible crescent moon with a star, a floral wreath, and inscriptions in Urdu clearly identify Pakistan. The relief is worn in places but legible, confirming earlier circulation. Some pieces display the denomination in Arabic numerals, while others display a fragment of the date.

The upper part was handcrafted from a brass alloy. The characteristic double horn-shaped ends and a triangular arrangement of three blue beads are a motif often found in tribal jewelry from the Waziristan region. The beads are glass, in an intense turquoise-blue shade, slightly irregular, with visible minor discoloration.

The assembly of the elements is raw and functional – traces of soldering, local darkening of the metal, and a natural patina are visible. This isn't jewelry designed for the European market, but rather a functional adaptation of a coin into a tribal garment.

Pendants of this type were sewn into necklaces, belts, and heavy women's jewelry. Each piece differs in the detail of the coin's relief and the shade of the blue beads. The price is for one random pendant from a batch in the Waziri style.
